Taylor Swift makes an appearance at the ongoing Winter Olympics, but not without a twist. On Monday, February 16, the U.S. Figure Skating Olympic team shared a video announcing the Blade Angels. The global popstar narrated the video, introducing the Olympians in her own special way. For those unversed, the Blade Angels comprise Amber Glenn, Alysa Liu, and Isabeau Levito.

Taylor Swift showcases her support for Team USA’s Blade Angels by dedicating a special voiceover to them. The video commences with each figure skater’s silhouette.

Swift introduces each of the three Blade Angels separately by stating, “Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to introduce you to Amber, Alysa, and Isabeau. Three American showgirls on ice who will capture your heart with their stories.” Interestingly, it is a nod to the singer’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.

The “Daylight” singer then proceeds to introduce each of the girls separately, giving their backstory and hinting at their families. As the video montage showcases each of the Olympian girls, Swift’s song “Opalite” fills the background.

Towards the end, Swift narrates, “They call themselves The Blade Angels. Tomorrow night they are taking centre stage when the show starts in Milan.” Fans are loving that the global pop star is using her unparalleled stardom to promote female athletes and the Winter Olympics.

One fan commented, “Taylor Swift lending her voice adds star power and draws attention to the women’s Olympic figure skating team.” A second fan wrote, “Pop icon × Olympic excellence. Love to see it.”

A third fan penned, “This is such a huge spotlight for the women’s team! Hopefully, this brings a lot of new eyes to the sport before the Games.” A fourth fan chimed in, “Taylor’s voice adds something special—a perfect match for the grace and power of the team.”

The three female Olympians will compete in the Women’s Short Program event on Thursday, February 17. The Blade Angels will compete in the Free Skate event on Thursday, February 19 (via PEOPLE).
