Alyssa, 36, first shared her pregnancy news in October, opening up to PEOPLE about the two-year journey she and Justin, 37, took to get there — including five rounds of in vitro fertilization.
Along the way, the conservative commentator and former White House communications director learned she had endometriosis, a condition in which tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus and can complicate fertility. “I went undiagnosed my whole life until I started this process,” she said at the time, explaining that the discovery added another layer to an already emotional experience.
Through it all, Griffin said her husband never wavered. From doctor’s appointments to the hardest moments in between, Justin was by her side. "I feel so lucky to have such an incredible partner,” she shared, crediting his steady presence throughout the process.
Justin, for his part, pointed to Griffin’s resilience as what carried them through. He recalled her determination across each round of IVF, saying she met every setback with the same, can-do mindset.
"There's so many things that attract me to Alyssa, but one of the things is her determination," Justin said. "Going into IVF, there was so much of that determination that came through. From the first round to the last, she was always like, 'Oh no, I've got this. There's going to be nothing that can get in my way. I'm tough. I know how to do this.' "

Now, with the hardest part behind them, the couple are looking ahead to the experience of parenthood they worked so long to reach.
""I'm excited to relive some of the most magical parts of my childhood through the lens of my own child," Justin said. "As someone who grew up with a big family and a very close family, the best memories I have are with my mom, my dad, my brother and our cousins. So I'm excited to create that environment for our son."
"It's like this blank slate of endless possibilities," Alyssa continued. "And there's an awesome responsibility attached to that, but I couldn't think of a better person to be the partner in this than Justin,"
"They say anything worth doing is hard. Well, all of the struggle feels so in the rear view mirror now that we're here," she adds. "We're just so excited for everything ahead."
