New details have emerged surrounding the death of Kianna Underwood.

As previously reported, the 33-year-old former Nickelodeon child star died after being struck in a hit-and-run incident in Brooklyn on Friday morning.

In a statement to Entertainment Weekly that day, a spokesperson for the city's Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information confirmed that a gray vehicle had struck an unidentified female pedestrian who was crossing the street on Pitkin Avenue and Mother Gaston Boulevard around 6:50 a.m. local time.

On Saturday, a spokesperson told EW that after further investigation, the New York Police Department's Highway District of Collision Investigation Squad determined that Underwood was struck by two vehicles consecutively.

Investigators concluded that a black 2021 Ford Explorer SUV operated by an unidentified individual crossed over the yellow line and was driving "counterflow" to traffic when it collided with Underwood, who was traversing the street at a marked crosswalk.

The former actress was "subsequently struck by a black and gray sedan," also driven by an unidentified individual, as she was on the ground in the road. Both drivers fled, and Underwood was pronounced dead at the scene, said the police spokesperson.

No arrests have been made, and the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad continues to investigate the incident.

The new development came the same morning that Underwood's father, Anthony Underwood, shared a since-deleted post about his daughter's death on Facebook.

"So this one time [my partner] Tia Ynvme Taylor and I were in the Catskills and we saw this fox on the road," Anthony began his message. "I could tell it had been hit. It was a dangerous curved road, and I contemplated moving our car into the middle of the road so it wouldn't get hit again."

He continued, "But before I could do anything someone came around the corner and didn't slow down when I started flashing my high beams. So the driver ran over the fox. I remember the horror I felt when I saw that. Another driver pulled over and picked the fox up, who was still alive, and put it on the side of the road."

The memory felt particularly poignant as the grieving father contemplated his daughter's untimely death, wondering if anyone was by Underwood's side during her final moments.

"All I can think about is, did anyone show my baby that same compassion, as someone ran her over like roadkill?" he asked in his post. "Did anyone try to comfort my baby as she layed [sic] dying in the street alone, or did they just stand around with their phones?"

Underwood appeared on the 10th season of All That, the Nickelodeon sketch show that originally starred Amanda Bynes and Kenan Thompson, in 2004 and 2005, according to IMDb.

Her credits also included the animated show Little Bill, which was created by Bill Cosby. Airing for four seasons, from 1999 to 2004, the series also featured Phylicia Rashad, Gregory Hines, Tyler James Williams, and Ruby Dee.
